The annual reading event is a chance for farmers, ranchers, University of Florida IFAS extension and 4-H agents and master gardeners, FFA teachers and students and agriculture industry representatives to go into elementary classrooms and read a children’s non-fiction book about Florida’s livestock and poultry industry to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. This year’s book is titled Drive Through Florida: Aquaculture and Seafood.

Community Service Hours
Community Service Hours
Dade County Farm Bureau offers many volunteer opportunities for students. As a non-profit organization, DCFB is always in need of volunteers for the many events put on and supported by the organization. Event highlights include the Miami Dade County Youth Fair, The Ag, Cattle and Horse Show, and the DCFB BBQ just to name a few. Perhaps the first and biggest benefit people get from volunteering is the satisfaction of incorporating service into their lives and making a difference in their community and country. The intangible benefits alone—such as pride, satisfaction, and accomplishment—are worthwhile reasons to serve. In addition, when we share our time and talents we:
Solve Problems, Strengthen Communities, Improve Lives, Connect to Others, and Transform Our Own Lives! If you are interested in volunteering for the Dade County Farm Bureau please contact Jacqueline Rosado at Jacquie.Rosado@ffbic.com or call 305-246-5514.
